This iconic Lawrence, KS bakery and cafe was named one of the 8 Wonders of Kansas Cuisine.
WheatFields hired me in 2020 to help maintain their HTML-based website and then in 2023 to provide a complete redesign in WordPress. I delivered a new site with a warm color palette and a focus on WheatFields’ gorgeous Instagram photography. The website includes a customized WordPress admin that streamlines the process of scheduling announcements, weekly specials and menu updates. I also set up a system for selling gift certificates online with a simple WooCommerce store.
KTWU is an Emmy Award-winning PBS station located at Washburn University in Topeka, KS.
We launched this website redesign in early 2024. I was tasked with following general PBS brand guidelines while creating something unique, visually appealing, and tailored to the needs of the ktwu.org website admins. The new website uses the Elementor page builder and contains a host of custom features for KTWU’s donation forms, WooCommerce store, and integrated schedule data.
LAND3 Studio created the landscape spaces at the new Kansas City International airport.
Working with Kansas City graphic designer Adam Elwell, Ginny Weaver Design provided a new WordPress website for LAND3 Studio, a Kansas City-based landscape architecture firm. We delivered a fresh design and a revamped Projects section to showcase examples their impressive work. The new design uses a combination of clean lines, smooth animations and colorful photography to create a visually engaging user experience.
Van Go is an arts-based, social service agency that employs Lawrence, KS area youth to make public works of art.
I teamed up with Kansas City graphic designer Preston Brigham to create a new WordPress website for Van Go, Inc. This arts non-profit had recently commissioned a suite of custom social media icons and backgrounds, and we incorporated those into the design, producing a site with unique, engaging visuals and bold color pops. Custom features include a light and dark theme for website admins to choose from on each page, along with an Events Calendar Pro event management setup.
Free State Brewery has been serving up great handcrafted beers in their local brewery in Lawrence, KS since 1989.
At the end of 2020, Free State Brewing Company hired me to redesign and rebuild their 10-year-old website. Working with KC graphic design Preston Brigham, we launched a fresh look that lets the video and photographic work of Marc Havener shine. The back-end offers a broad range of features, including a lightweight, custom-built homepage slideshow; easy scheduling of daily restaurant specials; Shopify store integration; and a vibrant new Beer section with slider controls for hops and ABV quantities that appear on the website as colorful animations.
